Lattice Automation, Inc. is Hiring a Product Manager Near Boston, MA

Lattice Automation, Inc. provides complete solutions to fundamentally change the way that synthetic biological designs are conceived, designed, physically created, and managed. Our technology builds upon state-of-the-art techniques and technology in computer science, electrical engineering, and bioengineering. We are building a team of software developers, computer scientists, biologists, project managers, and analysts that can collaboratively design, engineer, and deploy novel computational tools. Lattice Automation works with cutting edge bioengineering organizations to design whole genomes, provide readiness solutions for future bio-events, and design interfaces for editing biology. These tools will be critical in the 21st century to address human health, environmental, energy, and biosensing needs. 

As a Product Manager you will be part of a team focused on delivering cutting edge software solutions to scientists who are creating the next generation of vaccines and therapeutics to face human health challenges of today and tomorrow. You will support the development effort and help to design and document customer-facing software tools. You will work with project management resources and software engineers to document system requirements, data structures, workflows, and system architecture. This position has an enormous amount of space for growth as we continue to expand our team.

Your responsibilities

  • Driving solution feature definition, feature prioritization, and process development. 
  • Collaborating with the Lattice software engineers to define customer solutions in the synthetic biology domain.
  • Maintaining relevant project documentation, tracking document revisions, and validating documentation with clients.
  • Working with senior members of the engineering team to meet with customers and translate user needs into software, features, and processes.
  • Contributing to ongoing internal process development and documentation templates.
  • Quickly develop subject matter expertise for relevant processes involved in the developed solution. 

About you

You are interested in working on software development for synthetic biology with a small, hard-working team. You are interested in working with a high degree of autonomy. You are comfortable working to define your regular deliverables. You have a fundamental interest in the application of computational tools to bring engineering principles to biology. You are interested in learning more about synthetic biology and participating in professional development opportunities. You are curious and eager to immerse yourself in new domains.

Qualifications/Experience

  • BA/BS, M.S., or MBA with 3 years of experience as a product manager, project manager, and/or business analyst in software development.
  • Biology background, experience in a lab setting, or ability and eagerness to learn.
  • Familiarity with the Software Development Life Cycle and working knowledge of programming approaches, languages, and infrastructure. 
  • Demonstrated ability to create and maintain standard practices with a growing team.
  • Experience with a variety of project management methodologies; Waterfall, Agile, etc. 
  • Preferably you are based in Boston, MA. Remote work is also possible. 
  • Independent, smart-working self starter who takes pride in their work and has demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
